Professor Hong-Ju He completed his Bachelor's study (2003-2007) in Food Science & Engineering at Lanzhou University of Technology, China, then moved to Northwest Agriculture & Forestry University (Top 50 in China) for further Master's study (2008-2011) in Food Science and focused on the rapid detection of spoilage microorganism in fruits with polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology. In 2011. Hong-Ju He obtained Chinese government scholarship after intense competition for pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Food Engineering at University College Dublin (Top 2 in Ireland and Top 150 in world) from September 2011 to August 2015. In January 2016, Hong-Ju He got a professor position in Henan Institute of Science and Technology (China) and works as leader of Food Analysis & Detection Group focusing on non-destructive food analysis and emerging food technology including Vis/NIR spectroscopy, FTIR spectroscopy, hyperspectral imaging & multispectral imaging. Besides, he is also interested in the area of agricultural waste utilization and bioconversion. During his academic research (PhD, MSc), Hong-Ju He has published over 80 journal papers and almost 10 conference papers, and also finished one chapter in book "Biosurfactants" (in Chinese) and three chapters in book "Computer Vision Technology for Food Quality Evaluation" (in English). He is also a member of several international academic society including American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE), European Society of Agricultural Engineers (EurAgEng), International Society of Food Engineering (ISFE). From 2013 to 2015, Hong-Ju He acted as vice secretary-general of Chinese Students & Scholars Association (CSSA) in Ireland and President of CSSA in University College Dublin (CSSA UCD), Ireland. In addition, professor Hong-Ju He is currently a peer-reviewer of over 40 international academic journals (Elsevier/Springer/Wiley/Taylor & Francis, SCI Source Journal) and 15 Chinese academic journals in Food Science & Technology. Up to now, He has peer-reviewed over 300 journal papers and continues to share his study with other researchers. show More
