Dr. Tu N. Nguyen is an assistant professor and director of the Next-generation Computing and Network Systems Laboratory (Next-CNS) in the Department of Computer Science at Kennesaw State University, Georgia, USA. His research and teaching are hinged on developing fundamental mathematical tools and principles to design and develop smart, secure, and self-organizing systems, with applications to network systems, quantum communications, cyber-physical systems, and cybersecurity. Dr. Nguyen has published 2 book and 100+ publications in leading academic journals and conferences. His research has been supported by grants from US National Science Foundation, US Department of Energy, and SunTrust Banks Inc. His first academic appointment was at the Purdue University Fort Wayne from 2019 to 2021, where he joined the Department of Computer Science as an assistant professor and founding director of the Network Science, Optimization, and Security Laboratory. In summer 2021, he joined the KSU's Computer Science Department and established the Next-CNS. He was honored to receive several awards including the SunTrust Faculty Fellows (2022), US NSF CRII Award (2021), KSU Summer Faculty Fellows (2022), PFW ETCS Excellence in Research (2021), PFW Chapter Sigma Xi Researcher of the Year (2021), and PFW Student Supervisor of the Year Nominee (2021). Dr. Nguyen has engaged in many professional activities, including serving as Editor/Guest Editor for international journals such as an Associate Editor of IEEE Systems Journal, Associate Editor of Journal of Combinatorial Optimization, Associate Editor of IEEE Access, and Technical Editor of Computer Communication as well as serving as the Guest Editor of many academic journals such as IEEE Transaction on Computational Social Systems, IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, IEEE Internet of Things Magazine, and IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Magazine, and so on. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the book series: IET Advances in Distributed Computing and Blockchain Technologies. He has been in different Organizing Committees such as being TPC-chairs and general chairs for several IEEE/ACM/Springer flagship conferences. He has also served as a technical program committee (TPC) member for several international conferences including IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE GLOBECOM, IEEE LCN, IEEE RFID, IEEE ICC, IEEE WCNC, and so on.
