Ha investigado sobre elecciones, partidos y sistemas de partidos, reformas electorales, instituciones informales, representación política de las mujeres y brecha de género y Ciencia Política, con el apoyo de la Organización de los Estados Americanos [OEA], del Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología [CONACYT], del Centro Carter, del Instituto Nacional Electoral [INE], del INMujeres México, del Tribunal Electoral del Poder Judicial de la Federación [TEPJF], del PNUD, del National Endowerment of Democracy [NED], del Instituto Electoral de la Ciudad de México [IECM], del Ministerio de Educación y del Ministerio de Innovación y Ciencia [España], de la Secretaría General Iberoamericana [SEGIB], de la Agencia Española para la Cooperación Internacional y el Desarrollo [AECID], del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo [BID], de International IDEA, de Ágora Democrática Ecuador y del Instituto Interamericano de Derechos Humanos/CAPEL. Durante su carrera ha tenido el honor de ser Editora Asociada de Latin American Research Review [2016 a 2019]; Investigadora Titular de la Cátedra CONACYT “Jesús Silva Herzog” en el Colegio de San Luis Potosí (2018); Miembro del Comité Académico y Editorial del Tribunal Electoral del Poder Judicial de la Federación (TEPJF) (2017-2019); del Comité Editorial del Instituto Nacional Electoral (INE) (2017-2019); Directora del Instituto Universitario de Iberoamérica de la Universidad de Salamanca en España [2012-2015]; su Subdirectora [2008-2012]; Directora Académica del Doctorado en Estudios Latinoamericanos [2008-2015] y del Máster en Estudios Latinoamericanos [2007-2015].
