Jianqiao Ye is a Professor and the Chair of Mechanical Engineering at Lancaster University and a member of the Lancaster Intelligent, Robotic and Autonomous Systems Centre (LIRA). Jianqiao's research covers a broad range of both academic and industrial interests, including failure and damage of fibre reinforced composites, advanced steel-concrete composite structures, geopolymer, lighter and green cementitious materials, cement and concrete carbonation, offshore oil and gas structures and vibration energy harvesting. He has worked on testing, numerical modelling and optimization of a wide range of materials and structures, which has been extended to the applications of modern analytical instruments such as X-CT, SEM, XRD, EDS, and data-driven techniques, including metamodeling, machine learning and digital twins. Jianqiao has collaborative research with a number of top research institutes around the world, including Australian National University, Nanyang Technological University, NPL, Stanford University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Wuhan University and Shenzhen University. His contributions to industrial applications of composite materials and structures are also internationally recognised. His research has been supported by many leading UK and international funding bodies, such as the European Commission, EPSRC, RS, RAE, and industrial companies, including Airbus, BAE Systems, Dunlop, DSTL, Force Technology, ITASCA and QinetiQ. Jianqiao has published three books and over 200 refereed papers in international journals and conferences proceedings. His papers have attracted over 6000 citations and an H-index of 44 (Google Scholar). He was amongst the world's top 2% scientists in both the "Lifetime Scientific Influence Ranking" and the "2022 Global Scientists Influence Ranking ",chosen from nearly 7 million scientists around the world by Stanford University ( Elsevier). Jianqiao has been a regular reviewer, an editorial board member/editor of many international conferences and a number of refereed journals.
