Siddi, Sara  PhD

Researcher with 99 publications in the last 18 years
I am a psychologist. I graduated from the University of Cagliari (Italy) in 2007. During my degree, I was granted a scholarship by the Italian Government (Work experience program) in 2006 for a two-month internship at Jewish Home and Hospital in New York (USA), and I participated in an Erasmus programme at the University of Salamanca (Spain) for six months in 2007. I then completed my master's in Clinical and Health Psychology, specialising in neuropsychology, in 2010 at the University of Barcelona. During my predoctoral training, I worked full-time as a research assistant at the University of Cagliari (Italy) for the years (2012-2015), on the project “Neuropsychological correlates of hallucination experiences and schizotypy personality in the clinical and general population”. Findings from this project were published and included as the leading publications of the Doctoral Thesis entitled “Neuroscience of hallucinations: neurocognitive, neurofunctional and neurostructural mechanisms”. Since December 2015, I have worked full-time as a researcher at the Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu (PSSJD), Sant Boi de Llobregat, on different international projects funded by Eli Lilly and Company. During this period, I completed my PhD in clinical neuroscience at the University of Barcelona (2017) and collaborated on other projects concerning hallucinations. I obtained Excellent Cum Laude with International mention. During my predoctoral training, I also did a Course on Brain Imaging at the FIDMAG Hermanas Hospitalarias, CIBERSAM, Sociedad Española de Neuroimagen. As a Principal Investigator, I also coordinated an international project, “E-CLECTIC: Electronic– HalluCinations Like Experiences Cross-culTural International Consortium” on the cross-cultural correlates of psychotic like-experiences. I was awarded a grant for the project “Unusual Psychic Experiences and Jumping to Conclusion in the clinical and general population” funded by PSSJD (No: AR201404). I granted for the project “Validation of the digital version of the Corsi-block tapping test, funded by the CIBERSAM (No: SAM15PI08). From 2016 to March 2022, I worked on a European Project “RADAR-CNS: Remote Assessment of Disease and Relapse – Central Nervous System” funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and Innovation programme and EFPIA (grant agreement No 115902). Actually, I’m involved in a project sponsored by Eli Lilly and Company and I’ve worked since February, 2022 in Edit-B funded by EIT Health (Grant agreement n. 220628), co-funded by the European Union. This project aims to provide an accurate and objective biological tool that will assist the physicians in the process of diagnosing bipolar disorder and of differentiating patients with bipolar disorder from patients with depression. show More
