Dr. José Boggia is Associate Professor of Nephrology at "Manuel Quintela" Hospital, Universidad de la República, Uruguay. He works as nephrologist, clinical instructor in general nephrology, and researcher. As a researcher is categorized in Level 1 of the National (uruguayan) Investigation Innovation Agency (Agencia Nacional de Investigación e Innovación, ANII) in Uruguay. Master in Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the Universidad de la República, Uruguay. Fellow of the Laboratory of Hypertension at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) chaired by Prof. Jan Staessen. Currently has more than 80 papers published peer reviewed journals. He reviewed papers for Hypertension (AHA Journals) since 2011, Journal of Clinical Hypertension (since 2019), and sits on the editorial board of that journals. Additionally, he frequently perform reviews for Hypertension Research and American Journal of Hypertension. Since 2020 get the position of Ejecutive Editor of Nefrología Latinoamericana. Dr. Boggia integrates the research consortium International Database on Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring in relation to Cardiovascular Outcomes (IDACO) and the International Database on HOme blood pressure monitoring in relation to Cardiovascular Outcomes (IDHOCO) studying the role of ambulatory blood pressure monitoring in cardiovascular risk stratification . The current research interests of Dr Boggia focus on clinical nephrology, glomerular diseases, peritoneal dialysis and hypertension.
