José Carlos Sá has a degree in Production Engineering (University of Minho - 1998), carried out his internship through the ERASMUS Programme at the University of Galway (Ireland). In 2010 he concludes the Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering - option: Quality, Safety and Maintenance (University of Minho), having developed his master's thesis in the area of Lean Management. In July 2015, as a result of the recognition of his professional path in the area of Quality Management, and the work developed, with the title "Quality Certification and Continuous Improvement", he is awarded by the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, after public examination, in accordance with the provisions of Decree-Law 206/2009 of 31 August, the Title of Specialist in the area of Quality Management. In professional terms, his contact with the area of quality management and work safety began in 2000, where he assumed in an organization the function of production and quality director, and led the organization to its certification by the referential NP EN ISO 9002:1995. From July 2002 he chose to become consultant/trainer as a liberal professional in the following areas: Industrial Engineering, Production Planning and Management, Occupational Health and Safety and Quality Management, in several organizations of various sectors of activity. Later in 2010 he also started to develop consultancy and training on "Lean Management". He assumed the function of quality and production director in several companies. As a teacher in higher education: Currently he is an Adjunct Professor at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP-IPP), where he teaches since September 2016, in the area of industrial organization and management; Visiting Adjunct Professor at the Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo (IPVC), where he teaches since February 2006, in the area of quality management, safety and lean management. He was a member of the Coordinating Commission of the Post-Graduation in Quality Management (ESCE-IPVC). Assistant Professor, at Universidade Lusófona do Porto (January 2011 / September 2014); Lecturer at Instituto Superior de Administração e Gestão (ISAG), in the area of Distribution and Logistics (Since February 2016); Lecturer at Institute of Business Management (March 2015 / June 2020), where he taught the course unit of Operations Management and Logistics in the MBA in Business Management.
