Patricia Gorgojo holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from The University of Zaragoza (Spain). She worked as postdoctoral Researcher at Imperial College London (2011-2013) and The University of Manchester (2013-2014). Her research is geared towards the fabrication of novel membranes for applications in molecular separations, with special focus on the application of 2D materials such as graphene oxide. She currently is Lecturer of Chemical Engineering at The University of Manchester and leads a research group of 6 PhD students and 2 postdocs, having already graduated another 2 PhD students. She is PI in an EPSRC-New Investigator Award grant worth £259,623 and a Royal Society grant worth £11,750. She is co-I in a large project funded by Innovate UK (£830,000) and in a FLAG–ERA JTC 2019 project with partners in Spain and Italy worth 313,043 €. She is co-author of publications in leading international journals including Advanced Functional Materials (Impact factor, IF = 15.621), Journal of the American Chemical Society (IF = 14.695), Journal of Materials Chemistry A (IF=10.733), Journal of Membrane Science (IF = 7.015) and Chemical Engineering Journal (IF = 8.355).
