I am currently a Speciality Registrar in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine in the Northwest Deanery & an Honorary Academic Clinical Fellow within the Centre for Musculoskeletal Research, The University of Manchester. I received my undergraduate medical degree from The University of Manchester during which I also completed the European Studies (Medical French) programme undertaking 6 months of clinical placements in hospitals in France and Quebec (Paris, Marseille and Montreal) including an ERASMUS placement at Universite Paris Descartes. I subsequently completed the 2-year UK foundation programme based in Mid-Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust. During my second year as a foundation doctor the COVID-19 pandemic began. During the first wave of the pandemic I recruited and cared for patients as part of the RECOVERY trial which helped to identify treatments to reduce mortality associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection. After completing foundation training, I was awarded an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowship in Rheumatology to undertake integrated clinical academic training (IAT) which included funding for a Masters in Research (MRes) in Experimental Medicine which I received in 2023 with distinction. In 2021 I completed the membership exams required to become a Collegiate Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). In 2022/2023 I was awarded grants from the British Society for Rheumatology (BSR) and the British Psoriatic Arthritis Consortium (BritPACT) to investigate the molecular mechanisms associated with ultrasound-detected disease activity in patients with Psoriatic Arthritis. Outside of medicine, I received training in piano performance, music history, and music theory at The Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto, Canada and graduated with an Associate Diploma (First Class Honours with Distinction) in 2012. I performed Scriabin's Piano Concerto with The University of Manchester Symphony Orchestra in 2016. Currently, I remain a dedicated amateur and perform solo and chamber music including with students perparing for examinations and auditions.
