• José S. Câmara is Assistant Professor with Habilitation in the Chemistry Department, University of Madeira, and is a member of the CQM (Madeira Chemistry Research Center) research unit. After his graduation in Chemistry in 1992 (University of Coimbra – UC), José got an MSc in Quality Control (UC) in 1997, and a PhD in Analytical Chemistry in 2004 at the University of Madeira. • He published over 200+ SCI papers, 11 book chapters, and more than 500 presentations at International and National conferences. • Experience as a reviewer: o regular referee for the leading journals in Analytical and Food Chemistry, such as Talanta, Journal of Separation Science, Journal of Chromatography A, Journal of Chromatography B; Analytical Chemistry, Talanta; Food Chemistry, Analytica Chimica Acta; Analytica and Bioanalytical Chemistry; Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Molecules; Bioanalysis, among others. • Awards o He won the Prize “Prémio Zarco 2009”. o Best poster communication on the 36th International Symposium on. Development of methodologies for extraction and analysis of volatile compounds and several secondary bioactive metabolites from different food or food-related matrices (SPME, SPE; MEPS, GCO, GC-MS; LC-MS; UHPLC); • Medicinal Chemistry and Metabolomics: validation of analytical approaches that may provide the biochemical basis to study pathologies or can be implemented as a diagnostic tool based on urine, saliva, and exhaled breath matrices as non-invasive sampling strategies.
